River Leie (Lys) – Province East Flanders
this is a waterway aside the big hype. In France its cold Lys, while it marks for some kilometers the border, it also has two names; "Lys mitoyenne" or "Grenzleie". As from Menen it becomes the Leie. It still is an important waterway between Lille and the west of Belgium. The very twisty river has been regulated at some places but there are still long stretches where one can cruise on a very beautiful, scenic river.
