Aafleidingskanaal Leie | Belgium: Tips & Detailed information

Wharfs, Marinas, Harbors, Facilities, Houseboat hirers, Restaurants and Shops.


This rather quiet canal does not touch any larger places and runs mostly through flower growing areas. It starts at Deinze, runs westward past Ghent and ends just below Eeklo in the northwest of Flanders. Eeklo is the only bigger place near the canal and has around 20.000 residents.



The canal used to continue into Bruges, today there is no get through a bit north of Eeklo. There is a boat hiring base at Eeklo.
