The Sambre between the Meuse (Maas) and the French border
A link of the shortest connection between Paris – Brussels and Liège. Since class I (Freycinet gauge) is given on the French side, this waterway can only be navigated by small 380 T freighters until lock 9 (Landelies), short before Charleroi. As from there it becomes a main waterway.
