Waterway has access to:River Saône, Auxonne to Lyon | France
With an entire length of 112 km, from its spring in the mountains of Jura to the confluence with the Saone, it is a small river. In the 19th century, the 39 km from Louhans to the Saone were made navigable. Next to grain, first of all wooden barrels were transported to wine growers on Saone and Rhone.
This lovely small river is reserved to boating tourism today.

The river itself is already an experience not to forget about the picturesque small town of Louhans, as it were the capital of Bresse with the famous chicken breading. The village of Cuisery is one of the four “villages des livres” of France. In the many antique shops, avid readers can find many “trouvailles”. If you prefer to visit a town, continue to Tournus with its beautiful old town center.
