The main river  flows from Paris to Rouen called Basse Seine and continues as Seine maritime. That means, the Seine is after Rouen under tidal navigational rules. You are only allowed to navigate on the river from Paris to the Channel if you have an appropriate license. For this reason there are no boat hirers here. For the sport skipper the Seine is first of all the “motorway” to the Channel. Fair enough we have to mention that there are some very nice resting places along the way.

With the boat from Paris across Normandy to the Channel: information for the Skipper:
Advantage: The fastest way from Paris to the sea.
Disadvantage: A lot of cargo vessels, you have to take great care!

Navigation on the Seine is only allowed if you have an appropriate license.

Tourism
Once you left the enormous possibilities of the City, there is not much left but an interesting journey and the towns of Rouen and Honfleur.

Wine and Dine
In Paris you’ll find of course everything you can think of … . Only a few kilometers further, you are in the Haute Normandy where one gets delicious fish dishes. A specialty of this region is also Bulots, sea-snails. No wine is produced in this area but ales and cider are highly recommendable.
