The Müritz
is not only the biggest but also the most important lake of the “Mecklenburgische Seenplatte”. On its northern, western and southern banks it offers numerous marinas and piers; on the eastern side starts the Müritz National Park.
The lake has always been a favored destination for a holiday. After the reunification the touristy amenities have been modernized, while its beautiful landscapes have more or less been left
untouched. House boating and yacht charter have helped this area to become well known to the rest of Europe.
