This waterway was once Berlin’s major link to Hamburg and Schwerin. Today it is an important section of the lake district of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and its water tourism. It is a very beautiful area.
The waters – Information, description
On the Ellenbogensee, south of Priepert at km 72.5 on the Obere Havel-Wasserstrasse starts the Müritz-Havel-Wasserstrasse. It leads over Pälitzsee, Labusee, Vilzsee, Mössensee to the southerly end of the Kleinen Müritz, where it goes into the Müritz-Elde-Wasserstrasse.
Wellknown Places and Marinas: Granzow, Mirow, Strasen, Priepert, Rheinsberg, Marina Wolfsbruch, Hafendorf Rheinsberg.

The Rheinsberger & Zechliner Waters
After turning off at the Ellenbogensee, one crosses the Grossen Pälitzsee and gets into the Kleinen Pälitzsee. On its southerly end through the Hüttenkanal and its lock, one gets into the estuary of Rheinsberg and Zechliner Hütte with the Grossen Zechliner See, the Zootsensee, Döllgowsee, Rheinsberger See and many more.
