This canal is, as its name already tells, part of the 183 km long Birmingham canal system. It leads from Farmers Bridge, of the Birmingham main line, to Fazeley, where it has a connection to the Coventry Canal. The canal is part of the shortest connection from the southwest of England as well as Birmingham to Trent Navigation and therewith to the northeast of England.
