Tisza River | Hungary: Tips & Detailed information

Wharfs, Marinas, Harbors, Facilities, Houseboat hirers, Restaurants and Shops.

The Mouth of River Tisza into River Danube
lies between Novi Sad and Belgrade. The first 173 km to the south Hungarian town of Szeged, it is a main waterway, than the river is reserved to leisure boaters only. As a difference to many waters of the east European countries, one finds here some wharfs and even some smaller marinas.

After 550 km one gets to the town of Tokaj, in the center of the famous Hungarian wine growing area. Afterwards, water level on the river gets a bit unreliable and the fact that it is Border River to the Ukraine for 22 km after Chop make things slightly unclear (Visa, customs etc.)

River Tisza with the Side Rivers Körös and Bodrog would well be worth exploring!
