This is another possibility to get from the heart of Amsterdam to the south and southwest. The following waterways make part of this stretch; Amstel (26km) until Tolhuissluizen, as from there it’s the Aakanaal (11 km) followed by Gouwe (14 km) after Gouwsluis, ending at Gouda.

Slotervaart begins by Haarlemmermeerpolder at Badhoevedorp , meeting south of Amsterdam with Schinkel, it goes on through Amstelkanaal to River Alster and finally on the Weesper trekvaart to the waterways of  Utrecht.
