Coming on the Meiseloot from Akkrum one turns left into the Het Deel. After just below 5 kilometers, comes the turn off to Monikerak, going to the turn off into Buitenringvaart and Heeresloot. Buitenringvaart continues to Opsterlandse Compagnonsvaart and Heeresloot into the town center of Heerenveen.

Straight on one passes west of the town on Nieuwe Heerenveens Kanaal and gets on the Engelenvaart to Kinder of Tjonger.
This vaart is a favorite short cut from the Frisian waters to the Drentse (Drentsche) Hoofdvaart.
