Twentekanaal to Hoogeveense Vaart
Coming from the IJssel on Kanaal Zutphen-Enschelde (Twentekanaal), one turns off into Zijlkanaal naar Almelo after the place of Gloor. One reaches the industrial town of Almelo after 15.5 km already and continues now on Kanaal Almelo-De Haandrik. After another 25.5 km one crosses the Overijsselse Vecht between Gramsbergen and Coevoerden at De Haandrik and finds oneself on Stieltjeskanaal which flows into the Hoogeveensche Vaart after a further 13 km.

One can’t really call this waterway of eastern Province Overijssel an especially romantic one.  But, it is in a very good order.
