After the place called Kolhorn, Wardkanaal comes from the Amstelmeer and continues as Groetkanaal. If one goes straight on, one gets into Westfriesche Vaart, from Middenmeer it continues to the southeast and one reaches the harbor town of Medemblik at the IJsselmeer.

Den Ooeversche Vaart / Slootvaart

Slootvaart
Beginning at the Westfriesche Vaart at Middemeer, it goes northwards to Haukeshaven at the Amstelmeer.
In the middle of the way, Den Ooeversche Vaart turns off to the northeast, going to Den Oever, the town on the western end of the big dike of the IJsselmeer (Afsluitdijk). Shortly before one reaches the sea, there is a generous wharf with rest area that is hardly ever used.
