The canal system between Sombor and Novi Sad south of DTD-west-east link is sometimes also counted to the Danube-Tisza-Danube-Canal.
Western route:
The 25 km long trip turns off DTD south of Sombor to the south and runs parallel to River Danube to the castle of Bac. Then, it turns to the east and flows at the town of Petrovac, 25 km northwest of Novi Sad, into the eastern route.
At km 28 is a first turn off to the eastern arm of the canal system and at km 33 follows a branch canal going westward with lock to River Danube.
Eastern route:
18.5 km southwest of Sombor, one leaves the DTD-Canal towards southeast. Below of Ruski Krstur follows the inflow of the branch canal to the western route and after Savino Selo than the eastern branch canal of 14 km to DTD. At Perovac, km 47.8, the western route flows into the main arm and after 71.7 km the canal meets River Danube at Novi Sad.
