No, these gorgeous waters don’t deserve such a prosaic name! As far as canal is concerned; these huge lakes in the west of Sweden offer 250 km of waterways to the skipper and only 12 of them can really be called canals. These connect the particular lakes and there are also the 17 lock constructions with altogether 31 lock chambers.
