This very beautiful mountain lake is in its south,
east and west flanked by high mountains and belongs to the most impressive lakes
of the Alps. Whether you enjoy the breathtaking few on board of the Steamship
Lötschberg, on one of the modern motor ships or climb with the steam train up
the “Brienzer Rothhorn” and enjoy it all from above, you will never forget it
again! Don’t miss to visit the “Giessbachfälle”. The Giessbach falls over 14
steps and 400 m down into the Lake of Brienz. And yes, it is the one where
Sherlock Holmes….

Wine and Dine
Everything from the cellar hasn’t its origin from the region and
depends therefore on the kind of Restaurant you choose. Very well known and of
high quality is the cheese produced here, you must try it! The cheese fondue is
a joy, even in summer. Maisgnocchi or potatoes soup with cheese flakes or a
golden “Roeschti” with bacon are a treat. Not to forget the fine fish “Felchen”
from the lake or the smoked meat “Brienzer Rauchfleisch”.
Like on all the
other places visited by tourists in Switzerland, you have a large variety of
international cuisine too.
